Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao Rematch

Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather have been tipped to get back into the ring in a repeat of their 2015 clash.
There are different takes on whether a Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao rematch should take place. Some believe it is a waste of time while others feel it remains a clash to see. One person who says it should happen is boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard. TMZ Sports was able to catch up to the 63-year-old boxing legend at the Cedric The Entertainer Celebrity Golf Classic in Camarillo, CA and asked him about his thoughts on a potential Mayweather vs. Pacquiao sequel.

He replied with a most definite yes and says it is something that people. "It'd be a great fight. Put it this way, it should be done," said Leonard. "People will watch it. Would want to see." Leonard's take comes not long after Keith Thurman batted that no one wants to see a Pacquiao vs. Mayweather rematch since it will be another snooze fest. Critics feel that One Time's take is because he took exception to the fact that an expected rematch with the Filipino boxing great is no longer in the cards. As mentioned in a previous post, it was MP Promotions president Sean Gibbons who shot down the idea, saying the Pac-Man had nothing to prove.

The first clash between Mayweather and Pacquiao, most branded it as a major disappointment. Mayweather won that one by unanimous decision but did not escape criticism. Most felt he purposely veered away from Pacquiao in what became a cat-and-mouse game. On his part, Pacquiao did not escape the heat as well. The Filipino boxing icon said he fought even with an injured shoulder and chose not to back down. Since then, both have crossed paths with no clue on whether both would ever meet in the boxing ring again. Mayweather has retired from boxing while Pacquiao continues to fight worthy opponents.

In his last fight, Thurman felt it was a draw even after admitting he was no match to the conditioning of the boxer-senator. He now joins Jeff Horn batting for a rematch in what some consider a pursuit for big money. Pacquiao has his eye on Mayweather even if the latter says it will not be happening. According to Gibbons, Danny Garcia or Mikey Garcia could be next. For Thurman, a fight with Errol Spence Jr. has been suggested - possibly his ticket for another crack at the eight-time division champion.
