Benson Shilongo Leads Egypt's Ismaily Through To Semis

Namibian star, Benson Shikongo: Egyptian Ismaily SC vs Ittihad on 26 January 2020. @Ismaily.
Egyptian side Ismaily qualified for the semi-finals of the Arab Club Champions after holding Alexandria-based club Ittihad to a 0-0 draw in the second leg of the quarter-final on Sunday. Holding a 1-0 first-leg advantage, Ismaily wasted a host of goal-scoring chances that if converted would have given them a more comfortable victory. In 63 minutes Namibian striker Benson Shikongo changed the pace of the match and reached the finishing line but the effort was saved by the keeper.

Tunisian striker Fakhereedine Ben Youssef made his Ismaily debut after coming on as a second-half substitute. The 28-year-old arrived last week as a free agent after terminating his contract with the Saudi side Ettifaq FC. Ismaily are chasing their first title since winning the Egyptian Premier League in 2002. They lost in the final of the Arab Champions League, the old version of the Club Champions Cup, in 2004 against Tunisian side Sfaxien.
