WINDHOEK – Young Gladiators left for Botswana on Tuesday for what will be an uphill battle against their hosts in a second leg 2020 Fifa under-20 Women's World Cup qualifier on Friday. Namibia lost the first leg 7-0 in Windhoek last Sunday, and now face a daunting task of overturning the big deficit at the Gaborone National Stadium.

“I know we have the potential to change our results and make our country proud. We just have to push a bit harder than we did at home,” the team's skipper, Julia Rutjindo said optimistically. Her vice, Shanice Daries, added that even though the home game did not turn out as expected, they have regrouped and go to Botswana holding their heads high. They “will play with pride and honour”, she added. The 10th edition Fifa u20 Women's World Cup will be hosted by Costa Rica and Panama in August.
