Man United Line-Up Dilemma Against Newcastle

Newcastle United vs Manchester United It is a must-win game for the red devil after their humbling defeat 6-1 by Tottenham. AFP
With Anthony Martial And Edinson Cavani absent in the upcoming match againt Newcastle. Saturday night’s trip to Newcastle United has a ‘must-win’ feeling to it for Manchester United.

Left to stew on the humiliating defeat to Tottenham Hotspur during the international break, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows that failure to beat the Magpies will only intensify the pressure on him ahead of a daunting run that includes trips to Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, and home games against RB Leipzig and Arsenal over the next two-and-a-half weeks.

Solskjaer’s main decision regarding the defence was made easier by Eric Bailly’s injury on international duty with Ivory Coast, meaning Victor Lindelof should return to partner Harry Maguire at centre-back. The Norwegian’s attacking plans, however, require much more deliberation.

Edinson Cavani prepares for his Man United debut. Edinson Cavani will either “hit the ground running” or be a “slow burner” for Manchester United, says Dimitar Berbatov, with a Red Devils striker of the past looking forward to seeing one from the present make an “impact” at Old Trafford. Some have questioned whether the experienced Uruguayan, at 33, is capable of making the impression that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer requires.

With United having stumbled out of the blocks in 2020-21, inspiration is required. Cavani was one of the late deals pushed through by United, with the South American snapped up as a free agent after severing ties with Paris Saint-Germain.
